Shielded and screwed 4 mm plug
Infos about UHF-PL259 connectores
The UHF or PL259 connector is a shielded and screwed 4 mm (banana) connector in its original form. It was used in the amateur radio sector and is still used today in the VHF radio sector (aviation and marine radio).
It has no defined characteristic impedance and can only be used up to 300 MHz.
It can be assembled with most common cable types, such as RG174, RG58, RG213 and similar.
There are variants with which moisture protection can be achieved (antenna construction). This is only possible with suitable mating connectors.
To connect, the pin must first be inserted so that the lugs in the plug engage in the grooves of the socket. The screw connection is then tightened.
