Impedance

Impedance is a term used in electrical engineering and describes the total resistance to the flow of alternating current in an electrical system. It consists of two components: the effective resistance (also known as ohmic resistance) and the reactance (capacitive or inductive resistance). Impedance is usually represented by the symbol Z and measured in ohms (Ω).

Impedance is an important parameter in electrical engineering as it influences the alternating current power and distribution in an electrical system. It is often used in various applications such as signal transmission, the filtering of electrical signals and the adaptation of lines to different loads.
