Decibel

The abbreviation dB stands for decibel, a dimensionless unit of measurement that expresses the ratio of two quantities. A decibel is the tenth part of a betel and is often used in high-frequency technology to measure attenuation.

An example of the use of decibels is the level, which indicates the relative value of a quantity. In high-frequency technology, the level can, for example, represent the attenuation value of a signal or the amplification factor of a circuit.
