RG58

The RG58 is a flexible and cost-effective coaxial cable that is used for a variety of applications, for example as a measuring cable or on antennas. This cable complies with UL standard MIL C 17 and has a tinned stranded copper inner conductor. The corresponding 75 Ohm variant is the RG59.

The conductor is insulated from the shielding by the dielectric and is located in the centre of the cable. The exact geometry must be carefully observed. If a coaxial cable is bent to a radius smaller than the permissible bending radius, the electrical properties may be impaired, making the cable unusable for certain applications.
